If someone comes to the door at two o'clock in the afternoon and sees you in your pajama bottoms and says, "Oh no! What's wrong?" you just say contentedly, "Nothing. Everything is so, so very right." Loved this quote and found it on this site. So had to share it.

Next, ready for this...it is currently about 35 degrees and a beautiful sun is just now setting...not a drop of moisture in the sky and they have already cancelled school for tomorrow!!!! So funny. Nothing like the South to cancel school before any ice, snow, sleet, or even rain has fallen. Beautiful!!! Sleeping in and cooking and scrapping is in order for tomorrow.

I have been on a "real" paper scrapping roll lately. Trying to use some inspiration from articles, books, magazines, and my own digi scrapping. Fun!

Today, Shelly and I hit Chik-fil-A (oh, I wasn't aware until recently that this food establishment was not all over the country...anyway) and met John there for some lunch. Then off to Staples and finally Harris Teeter to stock up on groceries for this alarmingly huge storm we are expecting...tons of sarcasm there.

Well, it isn't a post without a photo. So, here you go. Just some ordinary moments around our house:

Shelly and I attended a PTA meeting today. Fun to begin talking about wrapping things up for the school year even though it isn't really over. We are planning a Bagel Breakfast for the teachers in February, a PTA meeting in early March, a walk-a-thon with the kids in late March, a luncheon for the teachers in April, and our final PTA meeting in May. All coming together nicely. And this will finish up my first year of my two year term as PTA secretary. Looking forward to only one more year...it's been fun, but I will be ready to move on after next year.

Shelly and I attempted a walk this morning and it was bitterly cold. I had to make a big loop and come back home after about 15 minutes. My hands were absolutely frozen and Shelly was a little ice cube, as well. I brought her in and wrapped her up in a blanket and she looked so cozy.

Well, here are a few miscellaneous photos for the blog:

Our basketball superstar made her first basket at Saturday's game. I was beside myself cheering, screaming her name, and almost in tears (really!). It was magical to see her really "getting it" and knowing that her daddy was the substitute coach for the day made it even sweeter. Great moment. Here are pictures from the prior week's game:

We also attended a bowling birthday party with a dinosaur theme. The very creative mommy (Lori K) made these precious dino capes for ALL of the children! I think that was somewhere in the neighborhood of about 15...so cute. Here's what they look like on the girls:

I'm on a digi roll...so here are some of the most recent creations:

We are going to watch John referee basketball tonight. Tomorrow..basketball for Lily, a neighbor's bowling party, and then a going away party for some neighbors at night.

Oh, booked the princess lunch for our Disney World trip. We'll be eating at the restaurant in Norway with various princesses. The girls and I are super excited.
TGIF!

Fooling around with some digi layouts. Love the second picture of Shelly. Just really says so much about her and who she is...bright eyes, little smile, blonde hair, and pajamas at 4:00 in the afternoon.
Some random things:
1. Playing Barbies can be very theraputic...especially acting out a few American Idol scenes.
2. Parmesan Tilapia is oh so yummy. The stuffed shrimp...just ok.
3. Consigning clothes can earn you some fast cash. It pays to have alot of little girls' clothes.
4. The book sale was fast and furious...got some good deals.
5. My cool and FREE Pampered Chef items arrived today. I love the new measuring cups and the Chilzanne container.
6. I love my telephone chats with my mother...I think they are fairly one-sided (my side) and I hope she doesn't mind. I also hope one day my girls will do the same with me.
7. Some people can really clutter my mind...I like to take a break from that clutter from time to time.
8. I can't wait to get my scrapbook shelves up in the hovel.
9. Tomorrow I hope to clean out yet more toys from our existence. Simplify, Simplify, Simplify!!!!!!!!

01.24.07

First, a fun little digi layout of my girlies.

Next, Lily informed me, on the way to school, today that she only has 77 days of school left!!! I was overjoyed with that news. So nice to think that we are that far beyond the half way point. I love having my girls home from school. It is so relaxed and fun...I never tire of it.

I baked some blueberry muffins for our new neighbors. They have yet to move in but I see them over there in the evenings. So hoping to give them their muffins and some hot chocolate mix as a little greeting to the 'hood.

Shelly has not been to school since the 16th. First for weather and then for a teacher workday. So tomorrow she'll head back and see her buddies and Miss Penny and the beloved Miss Peggy.

I bought some cute shoes at Target yesterday...some on sale and some not:
For meFor Shelly:

These boots were purchased just in case we get some snow. I hate to be unprepared! So, here's hoping for a good snowfall so that I can justify this purchase.

Have a good one!

Playing around with some photos on a new digi layout design. Here it is:

01.19.07

Today was the 100th day of school for Lily. Her sweet little school celebrates with an assembly comprised of the Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students. Each child is asked to collect and bring to school 100 items. Lily chose 100 ribbons and so we made a sweet little face with 100 ribbons for her hair. How fun! It is always so cool to see what the children create. There was everything from a bag of 100 marbles to a fortress of 100 dinosaurs adhered to a large board complete with elaborate scenery. So neat. Here is Lily and her 100 ribbons:

Her top says it all: Snowy Days!
1. School was let out two hours early today due to the snow/rain!
2. My mom's eye surgery went off without a hitch and she is doing well...I spoke to her about four hours ago.
3. If it's snowing out, that means I'm making 2 alarm chili and spanish rice.
4. Hoping to watch a dvd of our home movies tonight from when Lily was little...so cute.
5. I didn't take Shelly to school today because there were numerous reports of accidents all over Gboro.
6. Here's hoping tomorrow is snow and ice free.

01.18.07

Wow!!! We are getting it...snow that is. Looks like we'll have a bit of accumulation before it's all over.

John has a new hobby. He is now flying those remote control planes. Here he is with his new plane...these things are big. We are fortunate to have a an airfield nearby specifically for flying these things.

Notice in one of the pictures that John is wearing shorts. That was just a week ago and now here I sit watching the snow fall outside our window. Amazing!

The day after the third birthday...first, I am so happy that I put my SIMPLIFY plan into action with Shelly's birthday. It was just our little family of four and we all had a great time. Shelly really had fun and Lily enjoyed making it special for her.

So, let the pictures begin...

Today she turned 3!!!! This precious little gem is now a big three year-old. Awe...I can't believe she is already three. It truly seems like yesterday that she entered our lives and what a wonderful addition she is in our hearts. Shelly is definitely special because she is what caused our family to feel complete. And somehow, I think she came to earth knowing that. I love her so!!!

We had a fun day with a waffle breakfast in the morning and three gifts to open. Then off to school for a cupcake celebration with her friends. Back home where mommy made the Dora cake...by far the worst cake I have ever made, but one of the best tasting! Oh, and Shelly thought it was beautiful and even screamed, "Dora" when she saw it. She opened all of her lovely gifts and then we skipped dinner and went right for the cake. Now, she and her sister are with daddy at basketball practice. Here are pictures of the day and I'll be back tomorrow with more.
Her last day as a two year-old!
