Home Again, Home Again

It was lovely to be in Virginia Beach with our family for six days, but it was also good to get home. I have completed 3 loads of laundry and made chili for dinner.

Yesterday afternoon, while still in VB, my sister's family wanted some photos taken at the beach for Christmas cards. So, we went to the bay and took pictures in some very windy and chilly weather. Thought I'd share a few of the 136 pictures. The girls came with me to help as my photog assistants.

Ok, off to do baths and get ready for a busy week.

Post Thanksgiving

It is two days after Thanksgiving and we are enjoying our visit to Virginia Beach. Lots of fun time with family. My sister and I even got up early to hit the stores for some shopping on Friday...few crowds and some good deals!

Random

1. I've been working on my Christmas card photos and just can't seem to decide what I should do with them. I think I'll work on an additional photo over Thanksgiving.

2. I finally decided what I'm making for Thanksgiving...a yummy broccoli salad that we had at Shelly's Thanksgiving feast on Friday at school. Also think I'll whip up some pumpkin bread and maybe a pan of mac and cheese for the girls.

3. We went to see Madagascar 2 yesterday and it was pretty cute.

4. Made an online purchase for the girls for Christmas. I have a list of things I plan to get and need to work on that, soon.

5. I am so over this terrible sinus/dry heat issue I am dealing with. I'll try out the humidifier tonight and see if that helps.

6. I got rid of my nightstand when we painted and now I need a new one. I am tired of leaning over the bed to pick up my glasses and turn off the alarm in the morning.

7. I tried the Subway flat bread sandwich today and it was yummy. Like it as an alternative to the big sub rolls they have.

8. The snow on Friday was gone by noon. It sure was pretty while it lasted.

Ok, that's all for now. I'll leave you with some photos of the snow later in the morning with the sun shining.

November SNOW?????????

Wow, this is what we woke up to this morning in North Carolina! Look at that snowy sky!!! Can't believe there was snow on the ground on the 21st of November. Our pool's first snow! How cool. Lily had school and was so excited to go and have fun with her friends with the white stuff on the ground. Here are the girls doing a snow cheer. The bus stop and the girls in the golf cart waiting for the bus. Oh, and the timing was great...I decorated for Christmas yesterday!

CHICAGO!!!

My sister and I went to Chicago this past weekend and we had a great time together. The visit included some of our favorites...shops, laughs, drinks, bagels, sleep, and fun!!! I loved the way they decorated at Macy's. So many beautiful displays and the ceiling at the State Street Macy's was gorgeous. We went to Giordano's for the deep dish pizza and it was simply wonderful. By far, the best pizza I have ever eaten. Our hotel was the Hyatt Regency and it was perfectly located for our adventures on the Magnificent Mile and The Loop. We even got some snow! Immediately thought of the girls when I saw all of the tall buildings. My little country mice would love the big city!Hanging out at the hotel bar and attempting to photograph ourselves!
The taxi driver kindly stopped by the Sears Tower for me so that I could check it out before leaving Chicago. He even offered to photograph me by the sign (to prove that I had seen it to John).
