Rock Party & Pictures

Shelly went to a friend's birthday party yesterday. It was a rock and roll party and Shelly decided to wear her rock and roll t-shirt!!!

Then she asked me to take some pictures of her. So I obliged!

Once the camera began clicking, Lily came on to the scene. So, she popped in for a photo or two.

My camera is something I am truly grateful for each day. It captures my precious girls and our every day life. Always fun to go back and look at our lives through our pictures. Whether it's from yesterday or 40 years ago. I love pictures.

Complete Randomness with a Dash of Boredom

It has been pretty quiet here this week. No major snow storms, no company, no big activities. Thus, my lack of blogging.

I have been playing with Picasa and creating various headers based on this tutorial. So, if the header changes each time you come to this site, don't be surprised.

We have all been enjoying the Olympics. I especially enjoy the background stories. Some have really broken my heart.

I am super proud of John. He has been referring for the past 7 years and broke into the highly competitive high school state finals reffing world...remember we're in ACC country. He'll be at it all weekend!!

And here are some very random photos:

Sunshine

This weekend we had company!!! It was great hanging out with John's sisters, nephew, and mom. We did some eating, card playing, laughing, hanging out, and walking. For the first time ever (EVER) I played tennis. I think I did okay. And, I might want to try it again. Here are a couple of photos from the weekend. We were outside and didn't get many photos this time. This is all I've got!!

54 Years

Fifty-four years ago today, my parents were married. I am so thankful that they found one another, that they provided us with a loving home, and that they gave us an example of a happy marriage. Here is a photo from their wedding and a picture of them as they got ready to leave their reception and honeymoon in the Poconos.

Love you both so much. Thinking of you both today.

A Throw Down

On Sunday, the girls were invited to a friend's house for her birthday party. She had a hoe down throw down in their barn. It was just about the cutest party. There were little pigs all over the place and they square danced and played pop the balloon. It was just a really fun time. Here are a few photos from all of the fun:

The Day They Met

This photo was taken on Saturday, January 17th, 2004. It was just moments after Lily and Shelly met for the first time in the hospital. I ran across this picture and just love how sweet they both are in this photo. So glad I have two little girls who love one another. Hope it will always be that way.

Nifty 9 is Back

I haven't done a Nifty Nine post in quite some time. So, I thought today would be a nice day to review some of the current items that have caught my eye. As an aside, I remember that my mom always enjoyed checking out my Nifty Nines. Loved that about her. She was always there to indulge my little obsessions.

1. This is such a cute little necklace for the family photographer.

2. This Etsy site has some terrific camera straps. I might save my pennies and buy one for my little ol' camera.
3. the teacher in me just loves this super cute mug!

4. I own this sweet little circle necklace and just love it. Mine has the girls' names on it.

5. Thought I might need this super sweet beach necklace to add to my collection. Oh so cute.

6. I made something similar to these awhile back, but love these little owls.

7. This is the perfect solution to unsightly long tables. How perfect for the next little get together.

8. This blog is so inspiring, moving, inspirational, thought provoking, and just plain good. If you haven't read her story, you must!

9. Just a little something cute from Etsy. Oh, and I think she looks just like Shelly.

All You Need is Love

Yesterday we took our annual trek to the K & W cafeteria for our Valentine's Day dinner! The girls got all fancied up and off we went.

Lily ordered some of the yummiest onion rings ever!!! It took her awhile to get them, but they were well worth it.

Here's Shelly showing us her favorite food item...butter!!!!!

After the terrific dinner, we headed off to get dessert at Bruester's...delish!!!!

It was another great Valentine's dinner with our family of four at the cafeteria.

This morning we exchanged our Valentine's Day cards and special little gifts. Shelly received a red pendant necklace and Lily got a gold Love necklace.

Fun for little girls to get a piece of jewelry on Valentine's Day.

And, here is a little more love. The girls all piled on daddy.

Happy Day of Love to all!
