The Yellow Field

This is our friends' farm that I pass each time I come and go in our neighborhood. The yellow flowers and the pretty horses caught my attention the other day and I had to stop to take a picture.

Hair & Horses

We straightened Lily's hair on Saturday and snapped a few photos of it. I also did a quick fishtail braid on Shelly's hair before we went to a birthday party at a horse farm.

First Horse Show

A big fun day at the horse show.

Lily participated in her first show.

She was in the Lead Line class and got a blue ribbon for first.

Actually all of the participants in this class receive first place. :)

Shelly had a chance to ride, also...not in the show though.

And the Foster and the Kinney girls had an afternoon of fun.

Giddy Up

Shelly decided that she wanted to begin horseback riding lessons.
I was a little cautious about it all.
She has a pretty extreme fear of dogs and cats, so I wasn't sure how this would all go.
Her instructor, Ms. Tracy, got her on the horse without any prolems and away she went. It was so fun to see Shelly riding the horse with a straight back and her little ponytail flapping in the breeze. We are all excited for her.

Horses

Riding a horse...I think this might be every little girls dream.

I know when I was in about the 3rd grade, I checked out every book that existed on horses.

I poured over those books and tried to learn everything possible about horses.

I dreamed of jumping on a horse and just galloping off into the wilderness.

And, it never really happened.

I did ride a horse in Pennsylvania one time, but other than that...that was the beginning and the end of my horseback riding experience.

So watching Lily ride a horse every week is such a thrill.

I know she loves it.

Ms. Tracy is the best teacher and Lily loves being with Ms. Tracy's girls, Lilly and Grace.
