So, when my sister and I were in Chicago we were having a discussion about eyebrow tweezing. We both mentioned that the place we always noticed our eyebrows growing out of control was in the car in the rearview mirror. At that moment, we both said..."hey, we should keep some tweezers in the car for a quick touchup." And then just hours later we were in the Nordstroms Rack and I found two of the mini Tweezerman tweezers for only $7 each. And, since I felt it was definitely fate, I snatched up the mini tweezers and presented them to my sister as a lovely reminder/souvenir of our Chicago trip. Odd??? Yes, but oh so practical. I keep mine in the car and absolutely love knowing I can do a quick fix right in the driveway!!! Want more great tips? Check out Rocks in My Dryer. And, here's the word I have chosen for 2009...CREATE!!! It really encompasses so much of what I am striving for right now. I want to create:

  • a happy home & husband

  • a relaxed attitude

  • joyful children

  • a less stressed life

  • pretty crafts

  • yummy food

  • a better me

So, I am hoping to set off in the right direction as I attempt to Shine in '09!!!

WFMW

Today I have a really simple idea that I came up with yesterday. While I was helping Lily with her homework, I baked some chicken breasts. I had sprinkled them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Then put them in a greased pan and baked at 350 for about 40 minutes. I took the chicken out and then cut/diced it into tiny pieces. This chicken is now ready for whatever I want to do with it. Here are a few ideas: put some in a freezer bag and freeze to have on hand in the future, use it in the yummy quesadillas, for chicken salad, for the buffalo chicken dip this Sunday, and so many more uses. It was easy and helped me to be ready for some quick meals during the week and beyond. Check out Rocks in My Dryer for more great ideas.

Works for Me Wednesday

Here is a nifty little idea I came up with yesterday while shopping at Target. I was on the look out for a few little things for the girls' stockings. I ran across a couple of gift sets for $5.99 each. They contained about 6-9 items and I decided I would take the kits apart and wrap the items individually. This is way more cost effective than purchasing each of the items separately. The Hannah Montana one is the one I got for Lily and the princess kit is similar to the one I got Shelly. 10.10.07

Today is our 9th wedding anniversary. We have experienced so many big things in our 9 years together. We got married, had a baby, moved away from our friends and family, John began a new career, started a moving company, moved again, had another baby, sold the moving business, and John transitioned into a different job. Lots of fun...lots of changes. Looking forward to 99 more years together.

Here is my entry for Works for me Wednesday...

I keep extra new trash bags in the bottom of my trash cans. When I pull out the full trash bag...viola, a new bag is waiting for me underneath! Not brilliant, but it saves a little time and energy. Check out other great ideas at Rocks in My Dryer!
