So, have you seen it????
At 4:30 today, that's just what I did. It was the third time I have been to a movie alone (the other times...Flashdance in 1983 and Stepmom in 1998). I quickly bought my ticket, hit the refreshment stand for lemonade and Raisinets and entered the theater. It was dark, but I could tell there were several groups of women in their 60s and a few groups of young women in their 20s. Not so many gals like me in their 40s who had lived and breathed the series and felt the realities of the characters in their own lives. As I settled in with my snacks and beverage I was really overwhelmed and just couldn't stop crying. I loved the movie and I loved that they kept it real to the tv series. I won't give any spoilers, but it was just really well done. As I left the theater, I was preceeded by the 60 year old women and the girls in their 20s followed me. I thought it rather poetic that our ages were in line and we were all thinking about how much more we knew than the group behind us. I tossed my empty box and cup in the trash and grabbed my sunglasses (didn't want all of those movie goers to see my red teary eyes) for the ride home, alone.
