The Porch

This is one of my favorite spots in our house. The back porch is so relaxing with a pretty view of the yard, the animals, and the water. We hung these fun lights from Five Below to add a little whimsy and some light. It's a great spot for reading or just listening to some music.

We woke up early and went to the oceanfront to watch the sun rise. It was beautiful. 

Longtime Friends

Shelly was fortunate enough to spend time with her good friend, Shelby, on a recent orthodontist visit to NC.

Then the girls came back to Virginia for a several day visit. We are making the most of their time with trips to the beach, biking at the oceanfront, crafting at the Mermaid Factory, playing with the puppy, and sharing time being with one another. 

So glad Shelly is getting a much needed friend fix!

Blue Crab

I have been looking high and low for a piece of art for the wall over this cabinet in our kitchen. I originally thought I might want a beachy painting, but the other day I found this adorable wooden crab at a local shop. 

It fits in this space perfectly and I just love it! It adds a bit of whimsy to the space. And, those hydrangeas in the pitcher are from our yard. I'm obsessed with them.

New Couches

The furniture that we had for our den in NC was not working for our new home. So, we ordered new couches and put our old furniture in our office/den. 

We ordered two new couches for the den. The one couch is about 10" shorter than the other one. And, for now we are using the ottoman from our old chair in this room and I'm on the hunt for a coffee table. It has worked out nicely and we are thrilled to have a place for everyone to sit comfortably.
