Thanksgiving Weekend

Over the break, we spent time with my sister and her family and with my dad, of course. Grandpa made eggs and bacon for breakfast. I got to shop on Black Friday with my sister!!! And I took some photos of my niece and nephew. Always a good time!

Unconditional Love

One of the things that has been unsettling to me of late is when I hear other people (or read on a blog) speaking unkindly about their moms. Wow. I just wish for others to have a relationship as rich and fulfilling as I did with my mother. I am sad for those people who don't have that kind of love in their life. It is at moments like that when I realize how fortunate I was for my 42 years. I had this mother who loved me, accepted me, nurtured me, gave me wings, and let me fly (and sometimes flop). She was there and I miss that more than anything. So, if you are one of those who complain about your parents, please think about it carefully and do what you can to make that relationship better and sweeter. I think you'll be happy you did.

And here is a sweet little picture of me and my Grandpa Ande (my mom's dad)...I think we look like Shelly and my dad and that makes me so happy
