This!

John and I were talking the other day about how many little things have occured in our lives to get us to this point. And, how if some of those things hadn't happen how it would have changed our lives. We had this conversation on Friday afternoon and on Saturday morning I heard this song. Another one of those little perfect coincidences. And I especially like the following line from his song:

How I cried when my mama passed away

But now I've got an angel looking out for me today
So nothing's a mistake

A Good One

The first time I heard this song I thought it sounded so perfect. And so I thought I'd share it here. Here it is with the lyrics:

So damn easy to say that life’s so hard
Everybody’s got their share of battle scars
As for me I’d like to thank my lucky stars that
I’m alive, and well

It’d be easy to add up all the pain
And all the dreams you sat and watched go up in flames
Dwell on the wreckage as it smolders in the rain
But not me, I’m alive

And today you know that’s good enough for me
Breathin' in and out's a blessin' can’t you see
Today's the first day of the rest of my life
And I’m alive, and well
I’m alive, and well

Stars are dancin’ on the water here tonight
It’s good for the soul, when there’s not a soul in sight
But this boat has caught its wind and brought me back to life
Now I’m alive, and well

And today you know that’s good enough for me
Breathin' in and out's a blessing can’t you see
Today is the first day of the rest of my life
Now I’m alive, and well
Yeah I’m alive, and well

Sad

Today marks the loss of two of my childhood icons.
This is the Michael Jackson I remember and loved.

And this is the Farrah Fawcett I loved to watch in the mid 70s.

Sad.

Great Sentiment

Just love this song. We watched the video this morning before Lily went off to school and I just sat and cried listening to the words.

Annoying Music

Ok, I have to admit that when I go to a blog, it drives me nuts if there is music on it and I'm not expecting it. With that in mind, just let me know if it's super annoying and I'll get rid of it. But, if you just want it to stop...click on the pause button on the little pink box to the right. Oh, and for those of you who love it, check out my playlist of faves.

Ready for this? John's knee is doing better, but then he got a stomach bug yesterday afternoon. He has been down since then and went to bed at 7:30. We're all hoping he gets better and we don't get it.

The girls and I went to Target and Steak and Shake to get out of the flu zone today. Lily and Shelly each bought their own little purse for Easter from the Dollar Spot. They were both quite pleased with themselves about their purchase.

Lots happening this week. Hope all the Irish out there have a super St. Patrick's Day!!! Enjoy the week. Here are some photos of my "Spring Birds":

04.20.07

Haven't done much digiscrapping, so I pulled up some pictures to work on this morning. Here are a few of the results of my scrapping:

I spent the afternoon sewing a pillow for Shelly's cribby and attempted to make a skirt for Lily. The skirt was a bit small around the waist, so I turned it into a skirt for Shelly.

Also, loving this song and artist. Saw this video about a week ago and was addicted. Then he appeared on Oprah yesterday and I fell in love with the song once again. Oddly, I wondered at the time if he was related to Alan Thicke (Growing Pains dad) and sure enough he is the son of Alan Thicke.
