The Final May Day

For the past ten years, we've been celebrating May Day at the girls' elementary school with an event that is steeped in tradition. It's sweet and beautiful and it makes you feel good to be part of a community that puts so much love into this annual gala.

This year Shelly was selected from her class as the princess. And, in addition, the 5th graders performed the May pole dance. It's such a sweet performance and the kids seem to enjoy it as much as the adults.

It's a bit melancholy to think of the end of yet another elementary school tradition as we complete our time at this sweet school.

May Day 2014

Each year at this time, the elementary school has the sweetest May Day event. This year the 4th grade danced to The Twist and the theme was Rockin' at the Hop. Here's Shelly performing The Twist with her classmates:

May Day

Each year I let you in on our elementary school's sweet little tradition of celebrating May Day. Each class performs for the crowd and then the 5th grade performs the May Day dance. It is really the sweetest activity of the year and all of the students are eager to participate.

Here are this year's photos of the event:

May Day May Day

A time honored tradition at the girls' school is the May Day celebration. We love it. Each class performs a dance and the 5th graders actually do the May Pole dance. This year the overall theme was the 80s. It was a bit overwhelming to think that this would be Lily's last May Day performance. But, it was a great celebration, once again.
