Random

Some rather random things happening around here.

• We finally moved into the 21st century and now have a Wii!!!! Thanks to my sister and her family. The girls are enjoying it (and John and I love it, too) and it has come in handy during our snowy days at home.

• I am working on the rainbow cake for Shelly's birthday. Here is some of the colored batter and then two of the cakes out of the oven (red and orange). I like to make the cakes ahead and freeze them. Makes it so much easier to frost the layers.

• The snow just keeps hitting us here in NC. This is the view from the front door.

• After selling the parson chairs on Craigslist and donating the table to a great organization, I moved the long table into the dining room. Here is what the room looks like with the coveted table. I love the more casual feel of the dining room, now. And I should really share a photo of our kitchen without a table---kind of a funny big blank space!

• Lastly, this is the homework basket. This stays on the dining room table during homework time. It's filled with the essentials for getting homework done---pencils, crayons, markers, erasers, calculator, paper, and MY dictionary from the 6th grade. It works well for us.
