Random Ramblings

Lily finished her first season as a JV volleyball player. She really maintained a great attitude throughout the season. Proud of her.

We are eager to see what the next phase of high school will be like now that volleyball is over. Lily's involved with the student council and that keeps her busy.

Shelly did some cheering at one of the high schools on Friday night. They got into some rain but she said it was so much fun. She even mentioned looking up at the lights while it was raining and said how pretty the rain was in the lights. She's got such a good outlook on life. So many kids would see a chilly rainy night as a complete bummer, but not this girl.

I'm looking forward to some cooler temperatures. Hoping they'll head our way soon.

We enjoyed our favorite Starbucks drinks today since the weather was chilly and damp.

John and I went to see Gone Girl for our anniversary. Wow, that movie was amazing, disturbing, and complicated. It may not have been the best anniversary movie---not exactly a romantic comedy!

We celebrated 16 years of marriage on Friday. I am lucky to have such a funny and loving husband. He's a terrific father in addition to being a great hubby.

My parents were married on this date in 1956. So glad they married, had three daughters, and spent their lives living happily ever after.

10.10.10

Love the date and love that it is significant to us. Today is our 12th wedding anniversary! Wow, who would have thought that 12 years later we would be living in North Carolina with two beautiful little girls?? I could never have guessed that. We have had our ups and downs, but we have stayed strong as a couple and faced our challenges together. Isn't that what marriage is all about? It's easy to find someone who is there for all of the good times, but difficult to find someone who will be there when the going gets tough. I love my hubby. He's a terrific husband and a fantastic father.

Here we are on our wedding day and here we are now with our family of four:

54 Years

Fifty-four years ago today, my parents were married. I am so thankful that they found one another, that they provided us with a loving home, and that they gave us an example of a happy marriage. Here is a photo from their wedding and a picture of them as they got ready to leave their reception and honeymoon in the Poconos.

Love you both so much. Thinking of you both today.
