A New Digi Spot

I was thinking the other day that I hadn't printed out many of my digital scrapbooking pages over the last couple of years. Then I thought maybe I need a dedicated blog just for my scrapbooking pages. It would become my new "photo album". I think documenting and saving images is always evolving----slides, polaroids, instamatic cameras, 35mm cameras, and now onto digital media. So, with the changes in technology I am hoping to evolve my process for saving these photos.

A Scrapbook Page

I haven't played around with my digital scrapbooking much of late. I received this cute little quick page from Little Dreamer Designs and it was the perfect page for our snow photos.

Little Somethings

I saw this cute idea on this fun blog and thought, "Perfect". This little gift would combine with the calendar/planners I got for the specialist teachers (Art, PE, Music, Library, and Computer Lab) at Lily's school. I also made these for Shelly's teachers (to go along with their other gifts)and the director at her school. The snowman bags came from Target and the ribbon is American Craft from Michael's. And, I used these two digi kits to make the tags.

Halloween Treat Toppers

So, this week I am gearing up for all things Halloween. I am making treat toppers for the little bag of treats for Shelly's class. I will also fill some bags with goodies for her teachers. And, I am making treat toppers for Lily's teachers, as well. I used this kit to create these fun little Halloween bag toppers. I print these out on this paper, fold in half and staple them to the top of my plastic treat bags.

Diginess

Created a couple of new scrapbook layouts with my digital software. I recently purged quite a bit of my paper scrapbooking items and moved it all from upstairs to downstairs in the guest bedroom. I feel good about the purge and the move. It was difficult at first to let go of some of the things I have collected over my many years of telling picture stories. But in the end it is feeling better to have access to some of those "paper" things while now being able to quickly scrapbook digitally. I was finding that most of my paper scrap stuff was being used to create projects rather than layouts. So I created a little gift/project area in the closet and cabinet downstairs and I am hoping that this will work well for me. But I am like a butterfly...I love to change and redevelop my organizing areas...meaning that there is no idea when it all could reinvent itself again.

Toppers & Such

One of my favorite little items to create with my digital stuff is treat toppers. I buy a bulk of little plastic treat bags at If It's Paper and then I design various digital toppers to attach to the bag of goodies. I just made these little sweeties to accompany gifts for some friends having birthdays and for my friend who was in the golf cart accident exactly a year ago today. Love this digital kit. You can find it here. I also purchased the little Spooky graphics for Halloween items.

Yesterday I got some fun magazines in the mail. I will take them with me to dance tonight to peruse while the ballerinas do their thing.

And Lily brought this clever tree home from school. It represents the branches of the government. I thought this idea would work nicely spray painted black as part of a spooky Halloween scene or just leave it brown for a fun addition to a Thanksgiving vignette.

Documenting the Day

Wanted to be sure I had the ear piercing well documented for Lily. So, I did a little digi scrapping of it. Here it is:

Fondue Fun

I love fondue. I think it's such a fun and happy eating experience. I bought some HUGE and beautiful strawberries at Costco the other day and was slicing them up for the girls. John asked them if they'd like them dipped in chocolate and they both jumped at the idea. So, after their baths, I set up the chocolate fondue pot and we dipped strawberries and the big marshmallows. We even discussed fondue etiquette (no double dipping outside of the four family members' fondue pot). It was a nice little unexpected activity for a Thursday evening.

Today, the rain continues. It has been amazingly wet here for about a week. Of course, we need the rain. And ironically, our pool guy said that once the walls were in the ground would need to settle for several weeks and he advised us to pray for rain. Literally, the day after the walls went up and the concrete and dirt went in, the rain started. So, I guess we can be thankful for small blessings along the way.

Hoping to see the sun again, soon.

Happiness

Need I say more????

Ahhh...April

For some selfish reasons (my birthday!!), I love April. I love the smell of Spring in April. I love all of the new life...flowers, baby animals, fresh beginnings...that come in April. April feels like a big huge ray of sunshine following the darkness of winter. So, here's a little calendar photo for April. Love the silly look on Lily's face.
Hope your April is extra warmy and sunny!!!

Sweetness

Just stopping in to post a little digi layout of the girls from the other day. The weather was absolutely perfect for the three days (Wed. - Fri.) we needed it to be. And then on Saturday, the rain started falling and so did the temps. It's still raining and still chilly. Hoping we might see the sun again, soon. Have a great week!

Can You Digi It???

Ok, extremely corny title, but I was feeling a little silly. I worked on two digi layouts of the girls. Here are the results:

The weather here today is so beautiful. They were expecting rain, so this is a nice change.

So hard to believe Easter will be here in just 9 days. Here's a little something to make you smile...I got one of these as a bunny and one as a butterfly for the Easter baskets (from Target, of course!).

Pretty Pretty

Just fooling around with some digital designs. Here's a layout of pics from Shelly's 4th birthday party!

John's family is coming for a visit tonight until Monday. We are all looking forward to seeing them. The girls are so thrilled that Kaden AND Sofia will be here!

Happy Weekend.

Digiscrap & Teaching

Today was Lily's Valentine's Day party. Shelly and I got there at about 1:15. The children were already working on their coupon books and really did a great job. Her class has so many kind and polite children. I was totally impressed with all of them. Mrs. Lee is a fantastic teacher and you can really see her effect on the class just through their behavior. They enjoyed a simple little snack of grapes, Doritos, heart shaped cookies, and juice. Then they headed out to recess.

When I find myself at Lily's school I am often reminded of the many fun days I enjoyed teaching school. I loved the bond I developed with my students. In some ways I miss it. And at times I remember that stifling feeling I would get being "trapped" in a building all day. Anyway, the party was sweet and fun.

I worked on some digiscrapping today. Here are a few I did:
