I was thinking the other day that I hadn't printed out many of my digital scrapbooking pages over the last couple of years. Then I thought maybe I need a dedicated blog just for my scrapbooking pages. It would become my new "photo album". I think documenting and saving images is always evolving----slides, polaroids, instamatic cameras, 35mm cameras, and now onto digital media. So, with the changes in technology I am hoping to evolve my process for saving these photos.

Daisy
Daisy's first night home |
We have been looking for a special kitten for the past 9 months. It has been hard to find just the right kitty to join our home since our loss back in September.
I've traveled near and far to see many different kitten options. So, when I first saw this sweet little litter of kittens at my neighbor's house, I knew these were the kittens for me (well, us).
I selected a silky haired blue point Himalayan little girl out of the bunch. She's a purebred kitten with a Himalayan mommy and daddy. We brought her home and she is adapting nicely to her new environment.
Daisy snuggled in the "mommy" blanket This was also a favorite blanket of Chloe's :) |
And, we named her Daisy. When I was younger I saw the movie, The Great Gatsby, and thought that Mia Farrow was so pretty. And, I especially loved her character's name in the film---Daisy Buchanan. As a young girl, I always wanted to name my daughter Daisy. I chose not go with Daisy (instead naming her Lily!), but I thought it was a perfectly sweet name for our new kitten. So, Daisy it is.

Summer photos
I’m attempting to take a photo each day of our summer break. Some of the pictures will be taken with my regular camera and some may be taken with the iPhone camera. But, however the photos are captured, I just want them to symbolize a slice of our summer days. Here is the beginning of our summer snapshots:

Oakley
My sister's family sadly lost their dog and cat within a day of one another back in February. It was so sad. And, it has taken some time for them to decide to get another animal. This was a family who had a dog or cat in the house for over 22 years.
So, when my sister and niece came to visit us, they decided to choose a sweet little kitten from a litter of kitties of some friends of ours.
He is just so cute. They named him Oakley (after the sunglasses) and he is as sweet as can be. We are so happy for all of them.

Summer Fun List '11
The Summer Fun listed originated in 2008 thanks to this post. I was inspired by the idea of creating some things to look forward to throughout the summer months. We have created one each summer and it is always fun to follow along with it. I unfortunately haven't taken photos of it each summer.
So, here is what our list looks like for the Summer of 2011!!! We are excited to have some Summer Fun.

Singing and Piano Playing
A couple of videos of the girls...
Lily playing the piano. She is just starting piano lessons and I love hearing her play this song. So sweet.
And, this was from the 1st grade class play. We were out of town for the play and Shelly wasn't in it. So, when she started singing this song the other day, I just loved it. I thought it was an appropriate song for her to sing to Lily as she heads off to middle school. Cute.

Teacher Gifts
Coming in a little late with the teacher gift ideas for the end of the year.
I created a little relaxing gift for the girls' main teachers. It included: a polka dot towel, a magazine, and a cute little bag with a gift card to the frozen yogurt shop.
For the 13 extra teachers, bus drivers, and secretaries I made small versions of the cupcake in a jar gift.
I gave the 4 additional teachers the little bags with yogurt shop gift cards, and for the principal I packaged up 4 cupcakes in a cute little Target box.
