Pottery Painting!

So, we let those pottery pieces air dry for quite awhile (like 5 days) and then got busy painting them. I chose not to use the paints that came with the pottery kit and went with my new containers of Martha Stewart acrylic paints from Michael's.

The girls really had fun painting the pots. Lily went with a pink and green scheme and Shelly chose a purple and blue combo. They let the colors dry and came back and added the polka dots with a sponge applicator.

Wishing she had opposable thumbs to hold a paint brush!

Lily's pot has a little more finished look and Shelly's has a rustic pinch pot effect. They are both very pleased with the outcome. (Thanks Aunt Stacy and Uncle Pat for the kit.)
