The Scarf

My mother made many scarves for the girls and me. The other day, I went through my container of scarves and selected a beautiful pink scarf to wear while I shopped. When I put it on, I thought to myself, "come on mom, let's go shopping". So for the remainder of my day, I would touch my scarf and think of her. Many people commented on the scarf while I was out and about. It made me feel good and I was proud to tell them my mother had knit the scarf. Later in the evening, Lily and I were going through some photos and we came across several pictures of Lily and me wearing some of the beautiful scarves she made. I remember the day vividly. It was just a few days after Shelly's birth and my parents had come to visit and help us. I remember those days fondly and will forever be thankful that my mom and dad were there for me, my girls, and John. I hated to see them leave.

Please disregard the poor makeup job and the dark circles under my eyes---this was 3 days after the birth of little Shelly

I'm always looking for signs from my mom and today I think she was not only sending me signs but letting me know---I'm right here with you; I always am. Yesterday was a special day. Thanks mom.
