Homecoming 2016

Lily is a member of the SCA Executive Board at her high school. Being a member entails quite a bit of extra work, but it's also a great way for her to get involved in her new school.

This past weekend was their homecoming. The SCA was a part of the float building, hallway decorating, and all preparations for the game and the dance. It made for a very busy week.

On Friday night, we all went to the football game. Her high school happens to be the school that I graduated from in the 80s. So, it was fun to be back at the football stadium, but this time from Lily's perspective. And, it was extra fun to see the team beat their biggest rival 28-7.

On Saturday, Lily helped decorate for the dance in the morning and attended the homecoming dance later in the night.

The theme was black and white and she just happened to have the perfect dress for the occasion. There was some trepidation about going to a dance without knowing many people, but I was proud of her strength and positive attitude.

Each time I watch her stretch her wings and try new things successfully, I am so happy for her.
